In the 5 shot sequence we did as a group, we used a compilation of close up an mid shots so that we could display the emotion on the actors face. the shots used were quite long and we used zooms to point out the focal point of the shots.
Cross-cutting between a face and the point of view is a good way to show a character's reaction. It also helps to show a third shot of the character from another angle to add content and depth to the sequence. Next time when you evaluate your work straight away, you will be able to give more detailed analysis.
